The final decision on the mayoral candidate for Tbilisi mayoral candidate from the ruling party will be accepted at the Georgian Dream political council; however, it is reported that the party is not in a hurry to officially name the candidate because of the differences in the opinion in the team.

Education Minister Aleksandre Jejelava believes that Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Kakhi Kaladze is one of the best candidates.

Zurab Alavidze, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, also considers that his candidacy has no alternative.

Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, says that the issue should be resolved at the meeting of the Georgian Dream`s political council.
