Two persons detained for illegal crossing of border

MIA Border Police officers detained two persons for attempt to cross the State Border illegally.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that the detainees are Georgian citizens - Ilia M., born in 1975 and Mamuka B. born in 1970. They tried to cross the border illegally at Vale"s checkpoint.

"The investigation found that the defendants tried to cross the Georgian state border in the direction of the Republic of Turkey, bypassing the border checkpoint," the statement reads.

The investigation is underway on the fact of group attempt to cross the state border illegally.
