New York Court sentenced boxer Avtandil Khurtsidze to 2-month preliminary custody

The New York Court sentenced detainee Avtandil Khurtsidze to a 2 months pre-trial detention. According to lawyer Nazo Gaprindashvili, the court decision on another detainee will be issued on Monday and he hopes that Levan Makashvili will be released.

This information was posted on his Facebook page.According to the facebook post, the decision will be reviewed in several weeks and updates will be available.

Georgian sportsmen Avtandil Khurtsidze and Levan Makashvili are among the 15 Georgians recently detained in New York for being a member of a Russian criminal syndicate.

As later reported, Avtandil Khurtsidze’s family asks assistance from the Georgian government saying nobody has contacted them yet.
