"European Georgia" filed more than 150 thousand signatures for plebiscite request at Chancellery

Leaders of "Movement for Freedom - European Georgia" collected more than 150 thousand signatures and demanded a plebiscite.

According to the party members, the issue of constitutional amendments is deadlocked and it is necessary to conduct general public inquiry into the electoral system.

"The Constitution is not a legal document of the Georgian Dream or some notary act. This is the guarantee of democracy of the whole of our society and the stability of our state. In this situation, when the authorities ignore absolutely all the players, every political group, the president, the public defender and the public opinion, the majority do everything in order to get what they want. This will ultimately damage stability in the country, "- Elene Khoshtaria said.

Sergo Kapanadze, member of the parliamentary faction "European Georgia", says that public opinion polls are necessary before adopting constitutional amendment.

"The constitution determines the future of our country and it is not advisable to change it until we can understand the position of our citizens," - said Ratiani.
