In response to US sanctions, opposition does not exclude certain provocations from Russia. In their opinion, Russia might continue to install the barbed wire fences, but they believe that the law, signed by Donald Trump, will result in real consequences. In such a situation, the ruling team`s opponents think that the government should make more effective decisions and make the issue more active in the international arena.

"Every step that Putin is taking serves one aim , to try to probe the reaction of the international community, how strong it will be from the West and first of all from the USA. With this step the Trump has clearly shown that they do not intend to quit this policy, " - said Nino Kalandadze, a member of the political council of the United National Movement.

Gigi Tsereteli, Chairman of the Faction "European Georgia - Movement for Freedom", thinks that the sanctions imposed by the US will be a significant blow to the Russian economy.

"I am sure that Russia will also try to take retaliatory measures. It is important that in this situation when the sanctions have been renewed, Georgia is everywhere, in every package and it is emphasized that not only Ukraine is occupied, " -Gigi Tsereteli said.

Chairman of the "European Democrats of Georgia" Paata Davitaia does not exclude that Georgia should be expecting Russia"s actions in response.
