Mikheil Saakashvili`s visit to Poland and address of Government of Georgia to Polish Government

The Chief Prosecutor`s Office of Georgia has addressed Poland with regard to the third president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili. The country`s chief investigative agency launched legal procedures after Polish media reported that Saakashvili is in Warsaw and takes part in official events.

"On the basis of the information provided by media regarding the visit of Saakashvili to the Republic of Poland , the Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia has addressed the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland and by this time all the relevant procedures provided by the law have been launched ," - said the Deputy
head of Prosecutor`s Office Public Relations departament George Grdzelishvili.

Zaza Bibilashvili, deputy chairman of the political council of the United National Movement said that this step of the Prosecutor`s Office will once again harm state interests.

"It is clear today that no extradition will occur, the Georgian Prosecutor`s Office once again insulted the Georgian state, as it has repeatedly done in the case of Ukraine in the case of Azerbaijan, in case of Interpol in Turkey. Obviously nobody will hand over Saakashvili to the Russian oligarch, it will just be damaging to the interests of our state, "- Bibilashvili said.
