At least 50 people have been killed in an attack in northern Afghanistan. Unknown persons attacked the checkpoint and then broke into the village inhabited by Shiites and assaulted the local population.

Most of the victims are peaceful people - including women and children. According to provincial governor, attackers were members of "Taliban" and "Islamic State."
