It was possible to completely liquidated fire in Gogebashvili deadend street at one o`clock in the morning. Nevertheless, several fire brigades remained on the ground all night long.

70 firefighters were involved in the operation. Local residents tried to extinguish the fires along with rescuers using spades.

The fire started in the vicinity of the Vera cemetery late last evening. The fire was spread very quickly, but evacuation of the population was not necessary. No one was injured in the fire.

According to the latest information, the fire damaged 2 hectares - mostly shrubbery. The emergency rescue service explains that there was no necessity to use the helicopter in the current situation and it would not be effective.

What caused fire, at this stage is unknown. Investigation is underway on the negligence.
