The occupation of Georgian territories by Russia has been protested by the Georgians in New York. Several dozen people assembled at the United Nations headquarters on the anniversay of the August 2008 war.

The rally participants demanded Russian troops to leave Georgia as well as Ukraine.

Representatives of the "Republican Party" of the United States were also present at the rally together with the Georgians. Georgian anthem was performed.
