In the pre-election period, the new social-political union - "Open Platform" was founded. The initiator of the association is Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of "New Georgia". Vashadze calls on the opposition and pro-Western forces to unite and nominate candidates from the opposition for position of mayor and council deputies through the primaries.

According to the members of the union, this is the only way to change the government. Open Platform unites 15 subjects, both political parties and NGOs.
