If concrete issues are agreed, consensus can be reached - Nika Rurua

The ruling team called on the opposition parties to have dialogue and discussions of amendments to the constitution, which mainly concern the electoral system .

The leader of the parliamentary majority Archil Talakvadze has stated it at a briefing recently.

Part of the opposition parties have responded to the proposal of the majority.

Nika Rurua, a member of the National Movement, states that there is nothing new in this offer and the ruling team always says that they are ready for consultation, but in reality it is always "just a mere talk".

Nika Rurua says there are some issues regarding which they will be ready for consensus.

He said that in the first place, in 2020, the country should completely move to the proportional electoral system.

"We are really ready to find a way out of the deadlock because the Constitution is a document that is not just a party paper. If concrete issues are agreed, consensus can be reached," - said Nika Rurua.
