The Central Election Commission asks Aleko Elisashvili, independent candidate for the position of the Mayor, to submit 10 thousand signatures.

The election administration explains that it is a procedure prescribed by this law and Aleko Elisashvili will be registered as mayoral candidate only after submission of these signatures.

However, the administration has changed the current law, and instead of one month, Elisashvili was given a one-week deadline.
The independent candidate expresses protest against the decision of the CECand accuses the administration of fulfilling a political task.
