Georgian Patriarchate discusses controversy in Kumurdo

The Georgian Patriarchate has discussed the confrontation in the village of Kumurdo. The meeting was attended by representatives of state agencies, Georgian and Armenian churches, after which the joint appeal was spread.

The statement says that the Armenian Apostolic Church does not claim the 10th century church and confirms its Georgian origin.

The parties are planning to discuss the problems existing on the scene at the next meeting, meanwhile the call on the population for calm.
