"Georgian Dream" presented Eva Gotsiridze as a candidate for the Constitutional Court. In case of parliament`s support, she will replace Lali Papiashvili.

The decision of the ruling team was not unexpected for Eva Gotsiridze. A candidate for a judge said that everything was done very quickly, after a short consultation.

Eva Gotsiridze was at the Legal Committee meeting today. She was trying to prove to MPs that her main guidelines would be impartiality and rule of law. Eva Gotsiridze failed to convince the opposition. Members of the parliamentary minority have personally explained to Eva Gotsiridze the reasonswhy they would not support her. Among them is Gotsiridze"s noisy initiative about the establishment of restrictions on freedom of expression and the limits of criticism.
