Discussion of drug legislation should be temporarily suspended - this is the request of the Patriarchate. The statement released at the end of the day says that the Patriarchate has never supported the prosecution of drug users, but it is necessary to take into consideration the issues that have been frozen before the law is approved.
"The state should set up additional regulations for the drug distribution and all state structures should present their views on the changes.
"Additional courses will be created in different educational institutions and special rehabilitation centers should be strengthened and in case of drug trafficking, the law should be tightened," the statement released by the Patriarchate reads.
The letter emphasizes the importance of holding consultations with the involvement of clerics.
