Detention for illegal purchase and storage of weapons and ammunition

The officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the investigative activities conducted on the basis of operative information detained in Batumi O.L. charged with illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition.

The MIA spreads information about the crime, which envisaged imprisonment for up to 6 years.

"Law enforcers seized a Walther PPK model pistol, a wrestler and three combat cartridges," the statement says.

Investigation is ongoing on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition under Article 236, paragraphs II and III of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
