MIA`s fight to reduce the supply is inconsistent - NGOs criticize state drug policy

NGOs are talking about systemic involvement of the Interior Ministry representatives in drug dealing. The Civil Sector states that the reason for this is the inconsistent response of the agency to such facts. According to them, liberalization of narcotics is one of the methods to combat drugs and this has already been confirmed in the world.

"When there is a crisis, the Interior Ministry becomes active and start to detain drug dealers, otherwise , they are silen.in fact, it shows that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is fighting to reduce the supply of drugs inconsistentlly we have no illusion that high officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are not involved, "- says David Subliani, amember of the NGO" White Noise Movement".

Giorgi Mshvenieradze, chairman of the non-governmental organization "Georgia"s democratic initiative" named liberalization of drug policy as one of the effective methods of combating drug abuse.
