A special meeting of the Patriarch of Georgia and Representatives of European Parliament was held in the Patriarchate.

European politicians arrived to Tbilisi with a special mission. In the frameworks of their visit, religious issues will be discussed as well.

The autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church is the main issue in which the European Parliamentarians are interested . They want to knownthe position of the Georgian Church.

The delegation members confirmed after the meeting with Ilia II that Ukraine was the main topic of the conversation.

The member of the European Parliament, Jan Olbrych, says Russia uses all means to gain influence.

"This issue is important not only for Ukraine, but also to those for whom the Orthodox Church is important. We politicians do not give advice to anyone. I think that the Church itself must make a decision, "said Jan Olbrycht.

According to Anna Zaborska, the member of the European Parliament, dialogue is important to solve the problem.

At this moment the European MPs are meeting with members of " Unite National Movement" and "European Georgia".

The European delegation will leave Georgia tomorrow.
