129 detained - Georgian and Armenian members of criminal gang arrested in Spain

Georgian and Armenian members of the Armenian-Georgian criminal group have been detained in Spain. Mamuka Chelidze, the head of the Main Division of Organized Crime has made an announcement at a special briefing.

According to the MIA, the Spanish police has carried out a large-scale operation with the Georgian Interior Ministry. The Interpol and the Europole were involved as well.

129 members of the Armenian-Georgian criminal gang, including seven "thieves in law " have been detained in Spain in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Albacete, Murcia, Girona and Granada provinces. They are mostly Armenian descendants.

As a result of the same operation, two citizens of Georgia have been detained in Madrid and Valencia.
