Giorgi Margvelashvili assessed the results of the elections and the protest rally of opposition in the interview given to the BBC Russian Bureau.
According to the current president of the country, the demonstration is a democratic process and the population expresses its dissatisfaction with the violations revealed in the election process. According to the President"s assessment, the role of the state is to prevent any conflicts and confrontation between the various protesters.
"The situation in the elections was not the best. there were a lot of violations, people have a negative attitude because of that and it is natural. We have elected president and will soon have inauguration but people"s position on these violations is expressed in the rally. The demonstration is a democratic process and I urge you that this rally does not go beyond the legal framework. I have the impression that the opposition demands early parliamentary elections, but I do not expect serious aggravation of the situation, "- Giorgi Margvelashvili said.
