The head of the presidential administration thinks 40% reduction in the budget for the president"s administration"s is an attempt to further weaken the presidential institute.
Giorgi Abashishvili says that the ruling political force has been trying to weaken the President"s Institute for years and the last attempt was cancelling the Security Council under Giorgi Margvelashvili"s presidency.
As for the President"s Reserve Fund, as it is known in the 2019 budget, the fund will be canceled all in all.
According to Giorgi Abashishvili, it will be a big problem for the fifth president, because the president"s reserve fund was used for social and educational projects.
"During Margvelashvili"s presidency more than 400 projects were funded from the reserve fund which promoted democracy, strengthening civil institutions, protection of state institutions, improving qualifications, improving living conditions in villages, financing rural libraries.
President Margvelashvili has been implementing these initiatives from the president"s fund and now it is absolutely unclear how the next president will implement similar initiatives, "-Abashishvili said.
