Parliamentary factions and comrades may no longer summon ministers - opposition criticizes draft bill

The draft law, which deals with the powers of parliament, will be
voted for at today"s extraordinary session. According to the initiative, the functions of the legislative body are significantly increased, including the obligation of the Parliament to control the activities of the government and demand from them to present besides annual reports constant reports on their activities.
The bill is unacceptable to the opposition and the reason is that the legislators at the factions and committees will not be able to call the cabinet members.
"They are trying to create comfort for their team and the government," said Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of "European Georgia".
Roman Gotsiridze, member of the National Movement states that the parliament cannot cope with the supervisory function and its role is declined.
"There is an absolutely decline in the role of the opposition and factions,"-said Gotsiridze.
The majority do not agree with the opponents and explain that the changes will better regulate a number of issues.
"This approach is only a matter of political speculation," said Anri Okhanashvili.
