Russia hopes to improve relations with Georgia under the new President- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference in Milan, where he is attending the OSCE Ministerial.
Sergey Lavrov recalled that Salome Zourabichvili was the Foreign Minister in the past and noted that they were able to sign a few agreements that were later terminated by Tbilisi.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, Moscow wants normal relations with Tbilisi and a number of steps have been taken in recent years.
“Russia seeks normal relations with Georgia. We hope that during the [presidency] of the President-elect, we will continue to find ways to develop constructive cooperation, "Sergey Lavrov said.
