The Minister of Internal Affairs is threatening the members of the United Opposition and their supporters.
Giorgi Gogaria responds to the ongoing processes in Gurjaani, where the situation is tense. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, every participant of the provocation will be held responsible for the crime.
He pledged that any offender, regardless of his status or position, would be held responsible. According to him, this applies to MP Nika Melia as well, if it is proved that he committed any offense.
"I want to promise them - from tomorrow, all provocative actions will be legally analyzed, and offenders will be punished regardless of their status or position. I promise this to my employees, each policeman. I want to tell them that today we, as an institution, showed respect to the presidential institution and tolerated a lot. However, everyone will be held responsible”, the Minister said.
The Interior Minister also responded to the statement made by the Public Defender that urged the Ministry to ensure that freedom of movement for the rally participants.
"I would also like to call on the Public Defender to pay attention to how the protestors behave themselves and remind that occasionally the rights of police, journalists, civil servants should be protected," said Gakharia.
According to the Minister, the opposition"s goal was to block and disrupt the inauguration.
