The Tbilisi City Court has ordered 1000 GEL bail for Zviad Kuprava, head of the Law Enforcement Reform Center and active participant of the protests held by Zaza Saralidze, a father of a teenager killed in a school brawl on Khorava Street last year, finding him guilty of violence against lawyer Irakli Zakareishvili.
At today"s trial, the defense delivered a final speech. The defendant addressed the court himself too, saying that Irakli Zakareishvili had private interests towards him.
Kuprava was officially charged on February 19, 2019, based on the appeal of the affected. The investigation established that he physically abused a lawyer in the yard of the Court.
According to the investigation, he verbally abused a judge in the court building on June 11, 2018.
Kuprava was sentenced to prison for nine months and currently is in custody. He will be released from prison on November 24
