Oto Kakhidze, chairman of the parliamentary faction "European Georgia," believes that the information spread by Archbishop Iacob contains signs of crime. According to him, the appropriate response to this information should be made as soon as possible.
“The State should not concern what the church will do and vise versa. As for the investigation - based on information spread by various high-ranking hierarchs regarding possible crime, this is the issue which is regulated by the criminal law. Any information about the crime need the appropriate response", - said Oto Kakhidze.
A few days ago, the Bishop of Bodbe charged the current and former high-ranking officials of the Georgian Dream. According to him, the Government officials tried to negotiate with him on the Patriarch’s dismissal. He named the participants of the meeting – then-Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, current Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, and former head of the State Security Service and current Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri.
