Argentine police protest for pay rises and better working conditions

In Argentina, hundreds of police officers from Buenos Aires Province protested to demand a salary increase, better working conditions and more protection from the novel coronavirus.

Wearing their uniforms, police officers took Buenos Aires’ streets and demanded a 56% wage increase while waving Argentine flags.

Police protests began on Monday in several municipalities of Buenos Aires Province and continued, despite the local government saying it will factor in salary increases. According to protesters, inflation in the country’s flailing economy is eating into police wages.
