The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained A.V. (DoB 1984) in Poti for assaulting a police officer.

Committed crime envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.

On November 30 of the current year, A.V. published a video on social media where he publicly called on citizens to use violence against representatives of police forces. In the live streaming video, A.V. noted that citizens had to capture one of the policemen to inflict various physical injuries. Regarding the mentioned fact Tbilisi Police Department has launched an investigation and initiated immediate investigative activities under article 2391 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Within the frames of the ongoing investigation, police officers met with A.V. in Poti to hand over the police notice regarding his interrogation at the law enforcement agency scheduled on December 2 of the current year. During the meeting, A.V. attacked the law enforcement officer and inflicted physical injuries.

The investigation is in progress on the fact of public incitements to acts of violence and assault on police officer, crimes envisaged under the article 2391 and 3531, I part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
