Irakli Bebua, who was illegally detained in occupied Abkhazia, has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.
According to the State Security Service of Georgia, they received this information through the hotline. The decision was made on December 7.
“The co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions were immediately informed about this fact. All existing mechanisms have been put in place. We are actively working with international partners and issue of Irakli Bebua, as well as the unconditional release of all Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territories, will be raised at the next round of Geneva talks planned on December 10-11”, - reads the statement.
