The Minister of Defense Irakli Gharibashvili presented the annual report on reforms and activities implemented by the Ministry in 2020.
As he said, the strengthening of the defense forces is the national task of Georgia. The Minister talked about the plans for 2021, aiming to develop readiness and combat capabilities, strengthen the NATO integration process and deepen the strategic partnership based on common values with the US.
Gharibashvili said that the Georgian army will be fully equipped with a high-standard modern weapon and the anti-aircraft capabilities will be upgraded. He also focused on the local military industry and said that preliminary negotiations have been launched with Poland, the Czech Republic and Israel on the establishment of a joint enterprise.
