The flag of Georgia is a symbol that unites our past and the power of our future. Such a statement made today the President of Georgia during a flag-raising ceremony was held.

“I want to congratulate this day to the youth, children, everyone who has been living under the state flag of Georgia for 30 years, those who do not remember the time when the flag of another country was flying in this country - this is the greatest happiness! The state flag of Georgia is a symbol of our independence and freedom!

I would like to congratulate our army on this day! The army that protects our territory, our freedom and independence under this flag, which proudly carries this sanctity in international missions abroad!

I want to congratulate the emigrants living outside our country and embassies. I want to congratulate you, police officers, rescuers, firefighters, doctors, nurses! Congratulations to all the people, all the professionals who protect our society today, this is truly a great merit and this flag is a symbol of that!

I want to urge everyone to respect this flag, because respect for the flag is respect for ourselves, our country, our culture and traditions. This one symbol unites our past and the power of our future!”, - said Salome Zourabichvili.
