Ministry of Internal Affairs seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Samegrelo

The officers of Samegrelo-ZemoSvaneti Police Department, as a result of investigative and operative activities detained one person in the village of Lesitchine, Chkhorotsku municipality. B.J. (DoB 1979) was detained for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition.

Committed crime envisages from 3 to 6 years of imprisonment.

As a result of the search activities held in detainee’s house, law enforcers seized "EKOL Tisa" and "KRAL" pistols, 700 magazines for AKS automatic weapon, 20 magazines of machinegun and gunpowder for firearms.

Detainee has already pleaded guilty.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition, article 236, III part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
