10 penitentiary institutions have been inspected and 6 654 prisoners have been tested, as a result of which, 113 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. Such a statement made today the Minister of Justice.

“Part of the prisoners had been taken to the civil sector hospital, while some of the inmates are asymptomatic. At this stage the situation is completely under control.

The intensive testing process in all penitentiary institutions will be completed by the end of January”, - added Gocha Lortkipanidze.
