The Health Ministry now allows so-called booster shots - Tamar Gabunia

The Health Ministry now allows so-called booster shots. Such a statement made today the Deputy Minister of Health.

“We allow so-called booster shots for citizens over 50 years of age and for those suffering from chronic diseases. Six months after the second dose, fully vaccinated persons can receive Pfizer, Sinopharm, or Sinovac boosters. AstraZeneca will not be used for booster shots.

Those vaccinated with AstraZeneca will be able to use Pfizer boosters. In addition, citizens inoculated with Sinovac or Sinopharm and requiring additional immunization for educational or business purposes-and depending on the requirements of their host countries-will be able to receive additional Pfizer shots 28 days after the second dose. For that, they will need to present their travel documents at a vaccinating facility and proof of purpose”, - said Tamar Gabunia.
