The officers of Poti police division of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained T.G. (DoB 1988) for inflicting minor health damage on purpose as a result of operative-investigative activities.

The committed crime envisages up to 3 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that the accused person, on the grounds of jealousy, inflicted body injuries with a cold steel to T.Ts. (DoB 1979). The injured woman was taken to the hospital where appropriate medical care is being provided. Her life is not in danger.

Law enforcers arrested the accused person at the crime scene, few minutes after the incident.

Police seized the weapon of crime - a knife as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Article 120, Part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates minor health injury on purpose.
