The trial of Mikheil Saakashvili on the case of embezzlement of funds to be held today

The trial of Mikheil Saakashvili and former Head of the Special State Protection Service Teimuraz Janashia, accused of embezzling large sums of money, will be held today in in Tbilisi City Court.

The hearing is scheduled for 11:00. Former President is expected to attend the trial.

His lawyers are going to interrogate Anzor Chubinidze, the Head of the Special State Protection Service, as a witness, however, it is unknown whether Chubinidze will testify. The court has already sent notifications for questioning to Anzor Chubinidze several times, but he did not appear due to his official duties.
