ISFED lost its neutrality, it which falsified the results of the parallel counting of 2020, and thus tarnished the image of the country - Givi Mikanadze

The non-governmental organization ISFED was not allowed to participate in the working group created for the revision of the election code. Givi Mikanadze, the head of the working group, explained the reason for the decision.

“This morning, the platform of the Eastern Partnership presented the names of 2 organizations that are represented by them to participate in this process – “Young Lawyers Association” and “Fair Elections”.

Despite the fact that the platform had information from us in advance that the involvement of “Fair Elections” is arguably unacceptable to us, they still presented this organization. We made a decision that “Fair Elections” will not be invited to this session.

This has its basis, which lies in the fact that NGOs can be involved in the process only if they maintain neutrality. “Fair Elections” lost this neutrality when they joined the demand for the removal of the Prime Minister during the last meeting. ISFED is an organization "which falsified the results of the parallel counting of 2020, hid them for 7 weeks, and thus tarnished the image of the country.

The door of the working group is open to any neutral NGOs”, - said Givi Mikanadze.
