The Government of Georgia will hire consulting groups to start the construction of Anaklia deep sea port. Such a statement made today the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
“You know that the Government today made a decision that defined the stages of the implementation of the public-private cooperation project on the operation and transfer of the Black Sea deep sea port in Anaklia. We have been working on this issue for several months.
It is also very important to correctly define the form of public participation of the state in the implementation of the project. We think that this is critically important in order to successfully implement the project and get the result we want - we want to have a modern port infrastructure that serves the use of the country’s transit potential and the interests of our country, and further increases the cargo flow in the Georgian corridor.
This year, we had a number of meetings, including with the representative delegation of the very large ports of Abu Dhabi. Today we also have meetings and discussions with the delegations of the Persian Gulf. There were also a number of visits from Central Asian countries, who are also interested in this port”, - said Levan Davitashvili.
