The new procedure for electing the Ombudsman is still a matter of controversy between political parties.

The opposition says that with the new procedure for electing the Public Defender, Georgian Dream receives the opportunity to appoint a person it wants.

United National Movement announces its active involvement in the process. On the contrary, Strategy Agmashenebeli will not participate in it.
