US delegation headed to Moscow after Ukraine ceasefire talks

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that a US delegation is on its way to Moscow, following the successful talks with Ukraine about a possible ceasefire with Russia.

"We have people going to Russia right now", Trump said at a reception for Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin at the White House.

During talks between the US and Ukraine in the Saudi port city of Jeddah, a Ukrainian delegation expressed willingness to agree to an immediate 30-day comprehensive ceasefire, if Russia does the same. Russia has not yet agreed to the proposal and said it would not comment publicly on the plan until it knows all the details. "First, we need to receive this information", Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz have promised to provide Moscow with all the information about the negotiations between the US and Ukraine. Trump said the talks with Kiev had been a "great success" and that "it is up to Russia now".
