Georgian ice hockey team wins the World Championship in Spain

Georgia’s national ice hockey team defeated Iceland with a score of 4:1 in the opening match of the World Championship 2023, running between April 16-22 at the Pista de Hielo rink in Madrid, the Georgian Ice Hockey Federation said.

The national squad began its training preparations with two victories against the Latvian club HK Tukums in two matches.

Their next match of the Championship will come against Israel on Monday, with the final fixture scheduled against Australia.
