Police seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi and the regions of the country

The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the operative-search measures and investigative activities carried out in recent period, have seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi and regions of the country.

As a result, 15 people have been arrested.

The investigation into the facts of illegal purchase-storage-carrying of firearms and ammunition and illegal purchase-storage of narcotic drugs is being conducted under Article 236, III and IV Parts, as well as Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The committed crimes envision up to 7 years of imprisonment.
