Under Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s chairmanship, a meeting on preparation for the Olympic Winter Festival was held at the Government Administration.

As the Head of Government pointed out at the meeting, preparation for the festival is about to begin, and 100 million GEL will be allocated from the budget to that end.

According to the Prime Minister, to facilitate the Olympic Winter Festival, international-standard infrastructure will be put in place in Tbilisi and Bakuriani, namely biathlon and skiing courses in Bakuriani and an ice palace and other infrastructure in Tbilisi.

As it was not noted at the meeting, this year 25 million GEL has already been allocated.

The meeting at the Government Administration was attended by Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Culture, Sport and Youth Thea Tsulukiani, Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Youth Ioseb Baghaturia, Director of the Municipal Development Fund Davit Tabidze, President of the Georgian National Olympic Committee Leri Khabelov, Chairman of the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival’s Organization Committee Mamuka Khabareli, and Head of the Bakuriani Development Agency Ekaterine Orjonikidze.
