The Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili and Deputy Chair Giorgi Sharabidze of the Central Election Commission (CEC) met with representatives of the observation mission from the European Network of Election Observing Organizations (ENEMO), discussed October 26 parliamentary elections and its related topics.
During the meeting, Giorgi Kalandarishvili provided a detailed account of the accusations and disinformation campaign targeting the administration following the October 26 elections. He also presented the election administration"s stance on these issues to the mission representatives.
“Following the October 26 elections, the election administration continues to hold meetings with international observer organizations, actively communicating their findings and recommendations derived from the observations. This initiative is solely aimed at enhancing the electoral environment. During today’s meeting, we provided the mission representatives with comprehensive information on all significant issues and engaged in an in-depth discussion about the allegations and disinformation campaign. We listened to their opinions on current events, and it is important to note that the organization positively assesses the administration’s actions and initiatives”, - said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.
Representatives from the observation mission of the ENEMO presented the preliminary findings and recommendations of their election report to the leaders of the CEC. The report positively evaluates the administration’s work and activities. Representatives of the organization expressed their gratitude to the administration for its cooperation and the coordinated exchange of information.
The ENEMO observed the parliamentary elections of October 26 with both short-term and long-term missions.
Today’s meeting at the CEC was attended by Zlatko Vujović, head of the mission of the European Network of Election Observing Organizations; deputy head of the mission Kristina Kostelac; election administration analyst Beatrix Bunekamp; and legal expert Mariam Lortkipanidze. Tamar Kapanadze, Head of CEC’s International Relations and Protocol Division of the Strategic Communications Department, also attended the meeting.
