Georgians are smart people, they know that the geographical location of their country is important. They do not want to get involved in the conflict between power blocs - MEP Hans Neuhoff

Even if you don’t want to accept it, the parliamentary elections in Georgia were conducted correctly, it was a democratic election with a clear winner, said the Member of the European Parliament [EP], Hans Neuhoff, at the EP plenary session.

“I was a member of the parliamentary election observation mission, I was there on the ground, I felt that there was no sense of pressure there. The opposition had the freedom to participate in the elections and had the opportunity to present its criticism of the government. The OSCE morning briefing said it was a tense but very well-run election. A few incidents were reported, but none that would affect the overall fairness of the elections.

Georgians are smart people, they know that the geographical location of their country is important. They do not want to get involved in the conflict between power blocs. Georgians are proud people, they are open to Europe, but they don’t want to give in to Brussels’ “rainbow” agenda.

Let us respect the democratic choice of Georgia, let us respect the sovereignty of the country. Let’s learn from Georgia so that we don’t overestimate our position in the world order”, - said Hans Neuhoff.
