The 1st session of the Parliament of the 11th convocation will be held on November 25, at 12:00. Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Parliament.

“As you know, the 1st session of the newly elected Parliament must be held no later than the tenth day after the official announcement of the results. Also, you know and it is publicly visible that Salome Zourabichvili continues to violate the Constitution of Georgia and does not appoint the 1st session.

The 1st session of the Parliament of Georgia will be held on November 25, at 12:00. The CEC has already made a statement that the temporary mandates of the elected members have already been prepared by the CEC, therefore all the elected members should take this temporary mandate from the CEC. On November 25, from 11:00, written registration will begin.

Registration of the newly elected members will be held near the parliament session hall, and at 12:00 the session of the newly elected parliament will begin, which will be chaired by its senior member Lado Kakhadze. The 1st item on the agenda is the certificate of authority.

The Chairman of the CEC is also involved in this process. After his report, the parliament will recognize the powers of all 150 members of the Parliament and put this issue to a vote, after which the factions will already be formed, this will happen during the break. After the break, the candidacy and then election of the Speaker of the Parliament and his deputies are already taking place. Then a break is announced again, during which the committees are formed and after that, at the re-session, the chairpersons of the committee are elected. Accordingly, at the 1st session, we will have three main issues: recognition of the powers of the Parliament and its members, election of the chairman and his deputies, and election of committee chairmen”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
