According to the National Environmental Agency, from December 17 to December 19, Georgia is still expected to experience intermittent precipitation, heavy snowfall and blizzards in some places in the mountains and highlands, strong westerly winds, and storms of 4-6 points at sea.
The expected precipitation may cause a significant increase in water levels in the rivers of Western Georgia, flash floods in small rivers, the initiation and activation of landslides and mudslides in hilly areas, and the formation of avalanches in the high-mountainous regions of the country.
Due to heavy snowfall, avalanche danger, loose ice, and poor visibility, traffic may be restricted on certain sections of roads [danger level – medium].
