Georgia`s path towards the European Union goes through Abkhazia. Such a statement the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia made after the meeting with Anna Maria Sikó, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary in Georgia.

“I discussed this issue and the main directions of the government Abkhazia’s activities during an introductory meeting with Ms. Anna Maria Sikó.

During the meeting, I emphasized that our main goal remains joining the European Union together with our Abkhaz brothers and sisters, with our dignity, customs, and traditions. I focused on the situation on the occupied territories and the violations of fundamental human rights by the occupying regime in Abkhazia.

We discussed the importance of bilateral relations and strategic partnership, which will have a positive impact on strengthening our temporarily displaced population in the future, both in terms of supporting education and healthcare sectors, as well as improving social and economic conditions.

The Ambassador once again confirmed Hungary’s firm support for Georgia’ sovereignty and territorial integrity policies. Hungarian diplomat also expressed full solidarity with our country"s path towards a European future”, - said Levan Mgaloblishvili.
