We call on the diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia to respect the work of the agencies responsible for security – SSSG

The State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG] called on diplomatic missions to act responsibly and coordinate with Georgian authorities, especially when making public statements related to security issues.

"The safety of citizens is the top priority of the SSSG. Within its authority, it carries out all necessary and urgent measures", - said the agency.

The SSSG also issued a direct appeal to diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia, urging them to respect the work of national security: “We call on the diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia to respect the work of the agencies responsible for security, demonstrate greater responsibility, and refrain from issuing statements without coordination with the relevant institutions”.

The US Embassy in Georgia has issued a security alert regarding bomb threats targeting 3 shopping malls in Tbilisi, advising its staff to avoid the locations until further notice. The Embassy said that it learnt of bomb threats which were directed at East Point Shopping Mall, Galleria Tbilisi, and Tbilisi Shopping Area.
