As part of the quality control of alcoholic beverages produced in Georgia, relevant services of the National Wine Agency and international auditing companies conducted inspections at nearly 200 companies and facilities during the seven months of the current year.

Compared to previous years, the number of violations has decreased, indicating the effectiveness of the wine quality control system. To increase the competitiveness of alcoholic beverages produced in Georgia, employees of the National Wine Agency regularly carry out quality control of Georgian wine and other alcoholic beverages.

During the first seven months of the current year, 181 inspections were carried out across 41 companies, aiming to determine the compliance of alcoholic beverage samples submitted for certification with their respective lots. Out of 479 samples taken, violations were detected in 9 samples from 4 companies.

Within the framework of state supervision, 15 inspections were conducted across 5 companies to assess the compliance of the wine production processes in the facilities with the requirements established by Georgian legislation. Out of 31 samples taken, no violations were detected in any case.

As part of domestic market control, 79 facilities were inspected, where violations were recorded in 63 samples from 43 companies.

In the Customs Clearance Zone, inspections were carried out across 60 companies by the international auditing companies: “Bureau Veritas” and “SGS”. Out of 223 samples taken, violations were identified in 11 samples from 7 companies.
